Tallow is rendered beef fat. It is very nutrient dense and versatile. Our ancestors used to save the fat from the animals they slaughtered and used the fat to cook with or to make other products with it (e.g. soothing tallow balms). Beef tallow is one of the healthiest fats there is. When you cook with tallow, it adds rich nutrients, has a high smoke point, and wonderful flavour.

Healthy animal fats like tallow and lard have been seen to be unhealthy due to vegetable oils being pushed as a healthier option which is simply not true. Vegetable oils are unstable at higher temperatures, and oxidise, which releases free radicals. They are high in omega 6 which is inflammatory to the body. Many foods today contain vegetable oils as they are cheap but they are not healthier and contribute to many illnesses and dis-ease. Beef tallow on the other hand is stable at high temperatures, very nutritious, and tastes so much better than any highly processed, industrialised vegetable oils.

Tallow from grass fed and finished cattle, contains so many beneficial nutrients. Grass fed and finished tallow is:

• rich in fat soluble vitamins A, D, E, K and B12.

• rich in minerals

• abundant in conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) which has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties.

Slowly rendered three times to a beautiful creamy tallow, and to remove any impurities. Tallow is perfect for cooking and frying at high temperatures.
